This month we...
- Began video calling staff applicants who will arrive in time for the upcoming January school.
- Barry ended his job at Haeata where he worked alongside the beautiful tamariki of the East.
- We moved out of our flat after living there for 2 and half years.
- We moved into Tesh's parents place... again. God bless the baby-boomers!
- Barry started a new temporary job (working 9 hours a day, 6 days a week) so that we can get some more money rolling through.
- We put a 'cap' on the student applications for the Jan 2020 school so that we could keep the ratio of staff to students at an amount that doesn't overwork staff.
Personally, we've been really nervous at times about our 'role' at Zion as we struggled to come to terms with the responsibility that is inherent within it. Last year God nudged us to start building a team of advisors and support, so we've been inviting people to come alongside us as mentors, elders, and friends to hash things out with. Some of these people Barry and I share, and some of them are for individual connection. Super cool that in July, Mum got a picture for us of the Trojan horse from Troy. The interpretation being that while people might see just me and Barry, we actually come with an army of supporters such as you guys.
Overall, its been a month of introductions, goodbyes, a LOT of administration from afar, and taking ownership of the position as 'ministry leaders' which God invited us into from the start.
