The 2025 line up: what's on our calendar for the year

Well, that’s a wrap on the 2025 National Staff Development Workshop, which also feels like a marker for a shift in how our year continues to roll out. We'll share more about how that time was and the takeaways in another post.

Here's the schedule we worked with last week:

We had a busy rest of year in the running with teaching appointments cropping up around the North and South Island’s. Just this last week as we facilitated the workshop we felt the Lord prompting us not to take a number of the bookings and to have a real fear of the Lord over what we say yes to. His word for us has been ‘sabbath’ and he told us last year that THIS year would be about family wellbeing, intimacy with him and longevity in the mission.

What's on the calendar for 2025 into 2026:

MAY

• National DTS Workshop: Tesh facilitating

• Christchurch: Family support for kids while travelling

• Indonesia: Outreach partnerships and pastoral visits

JUNE

• Thailand: International DTS center leaders gathering

• Christchurch: Missions update event

• Queenstown: NZ Leaders and elders gathering for 2 days to discuss YWAM missions events and where-to as bases in 2025.

• Tauranga: YWAM Furnace: Teaching staff interns doing their SOMD (school of ministry development) on Cross-cultural Leadership

JULY - AUGUST

• Graduating Q1 DTS

• Hosting HongKong youth for 2 weeks on base

• Colorado USA: Gager brother wedding (Barry as celebrant)

SEPTEMBER

• Germany: Two of our long term pioneering staff are getting married in Germany and have offered to pay remainder of flight costs that we cannot make ourselves. Considering sending one of us as representative of base.

• Staff Intake and DTS training all month

OCTOBER

• Our own DTS begins Sept 28th

• 2nd level Leadership course Module 1 and Module 3 cohorts are under way and facilitated by Tesh

NOVEMBER

• Kona Hawaii - Teaching on Kona Ships DTS: Cross-cultural Missions

• Barry’s parents return from Hawaii with us and see out the year in NZ

DECEMBER

• Outreach teams sent abroad

JANUARY 2026

• Launching Bible Core Course (BCC) in Northland (3 month, 2nd level YWAM Bible course)

• Surf & Outdoors DTS begins

We had been asked by another 3 bases to speak, but even writing that out made me realize how potentially hectic that could be!

Travelling a lot seems to have become a norm pretty quick and we love hanging out with friends, so it’s not easy to step back and stay put a little more in Northland. We know the Lord is strategic and wise, and knows what is best for the bases and our family at this time.
